"The Emissary"

For several years, I wanted to write a meaningful Christmas story that might be enjoyed by adults and children alike.

After the events of September the 11th, I felt even more compelled to do so, but couldn't seem to come up with what I felt to be anything of worth. For months, I waited for the inspiration, the storyline, the theme, the ending to no avail.

Finally, a few weeks before Christmas, I awoke in the middle of the night with the beginning of the story and decided just to follow wherever it would take me. As usual, and as I sometimes forget, I merely had to put myself in Someone else's hands to find my inspiration.
